Bedar village has a strong, thriving community encompassing a calm and tranquil ambience in keeping with an unspoilt white walled Moorish village.

The locals are sincere and friendly, welcoming visitors and tourists to enjoy the Spanish way of life. In the heart of the village we have a community centre offering activities such as weekly art classes, Spanish lessons, aerobics etc plus a local band which practice weekly for local events in the village. The village has a commercial area and offers a supermarket, general store, five bars/restaurants, pharmacy, hairdresser and Cajamar Bank. Bedar also has a municipal sports area and public swimming pool.

Bedar has attracted authors and more predominantly artists over the years and still today you see groups of budding artists sat in the hedge with their easels, painting their own special scene of the village
